Asks how we go about achieving fire safety in buildings. Develop technical alternatives,generate model codes and standards and ensure these are adopted by state, and local governments. Building officals and fire marshals enforce the codes. Emphasizes the importance of data and research in tackling the problem of buildling safety and the role of NFIRS and other compoents of NFPCA in working these issues.
